Grading veneer is fast, difficult work which requires pulling, sorting, and stacking sheets of veneer according to quality for later use in the plywood and engineered wood manufacturing process.
Job Title: Dry Veneer Grader

Schedule: 24/7 operation must be able for all shifts
Wage Range: $15.84-16.4
Dry Veneer Graders pull, sort and stack veneer by quality (grade) and place the different grades into carts. The wood must be stacked precisely as it will be transported to other departments.
Must be able to take direction, listen, learn and work well with others.
- The job is very fast paced because veneer is continuously coming from a veneer dryer to the Grader on a conveyor.
- Quick decisions must be made about which sheets to pull into different carts by quality
- The speed of the conveyor and constant output of veneer requires strength and endurance
- The veneer may measure up to four feet wide by eight feet wide by one-sixth of an inch thick and may weigh up to 30 pounds per sheet.
- Work up to six eight-hour days per week including weekends
