Our facilities are back up and running after two weeks of downtime related to first the fires, then due to the prolonged Level 3 evacuation, and finally to air quality concerns. We are fortunate that our facilities were not damaged and that we were able to come online quickly. However, damage to our timberlands was extensive and we will need time to determine the effects on our operations. In the meantime we continue to do what we can to provide resources to the local community and to help the rebuilding effort.

Let’s hope the Willamette and Mt Hood NF’s are allowed to salvage the fire kill. I’ve written the USFS and Greg Walden pleading for an Executive Order from Trump requiring fire salvage on USFS and BLM lands. We can’t allow another Biscuit Fire when a tiny volume was salvaged

Great company to work for

Great team effort

That’s you grandfathers attitude. Believe me, he would be proud.

Dont use up the log decks too fast..Dang that fire, puts a crimp in business plans long range..Hope for the best in your business..

The rain early Friday morning has brought much needed relief to the canyon. The air quality index has dropped to 137 this morning after reaching highs of about 500 earlier this week. The City of Lyons lowered the Level 3 evacuation and we were told plans were in place to open Mill City today, Friday, September 18th. We previously communicated our hope to restart operations on Monday, September 21, and it appears we will be able to do so. The current plan for start up at the various plants are:
➡️ Plant 1- Day and Swing Shift starting Monday
➡️ Plant 2- Day Shift starting Monday
➡️ Plant 3- Dryer Shifts start Sunday 7 a.m.; lay up will start Monday at 6 AM
➡️Plant 4- Graveyard starting on Sunday evening
➡️ Plant 5 and Cogen- Started up Friday morning to begin cooking blocks for production on Monday; Tuturbine to come online Friday afternoon
➡️ Plant 6- Please check with supervisor
➡️ All other departments start Monday as well
--
We realize that some employees have not only had to evacuate their homes, but have lost everything they own in the fires. We are working with various organizations to help those that have been affected. Please reach out to your supervisor with any questions. We will continue to post information on social media and to share that information with our supervisory staff. Starting our facilities ensures that people have jobs to return to, and once the smoke settles we can work to help rebuild the canyon.
